Academic Overview
The Learning Prep School curriculum is designed to develop a solid educational foundation for our students. The philosophy, essential goals, and frameworks enable departments and grade levels to create comprehensive methodologies, units, and assessments that are vertically aligned in grades 5 through 12 and follow the Massachusetts Common Core Standards, utilizing entry points to access these standards where appropriate.
Additional information about LPS programming:
- Every student has an individualized schedule. A typical day includes 5 core academic periods: English Language Arts, Reading Comprehension, Math, Social Studies, and Science.
- All related services are included and embedded throughout a child's day (meaning no pull-out services). These include speech/language therapy, occupational therapy, and counseling.
- We offer hands-on electives including Physical Education, Art, Technology & Design, Horticulture, Food Service and Childcare.
- All students all have a daily Enrichment block every morning to allow time for snack, structured social time, and a chance to explore new interests.
