College and transition fair

  • LPS Gym

Parents and guardians of High School students are invited to attend the LPS College/Post High School Transition Fair, which will be held at Learning Prep School on ThursdayMarch 102016. The purpose of this fair is for junior and senior level students and high school parents/guardians to meet representatives from colleges and other training programs in order to explore post high school options.  Each of the representatives will be available to explain what their program includes and answer questions.  Most of the schools attending the fair offer programs that former LPS graduates have attended and are suitable to students with diverse learning challenges.

The fair will begin at 9:00 A.M. in the cafeteria with a panel discussion followed by an opportunity for parents/guardians to meet and ask questions of college representatives in the gym until 10:45. Parents are then asked to leave in order to allow the junior and senior students the opportunity to conduct their own interview of the representatives in a structured way, led by their career education and consumer skills teachers.  Please contact Nancy Sleger at ext. 452 or at NSleger@Learningprep.org with any questions.

Serving students ages 10-22 with complex language-based learning challenges such as dyslexia, autism spectrum disorder, anxiety, limited social pragmatics, and executive functioning challenges.
