Application Process

Learning Prep School accepts publicly and privately-funded families. Applications can be submitted one of two ways:

1) A referral packet can be sent from your district.

2) Families can apply online directly through our Parent Portal.

In both cases, we ask for the following to determine if we can support your child’s needs:

• Application
• Student photo
• 2 teacher references
• Last signed IEP
• Current IEP
• Private neuropsychological evaluation
• The last 3-year evaluation from your school district
• Any other relevant testing that has been conducted in the last 2 years

After all requirements have been submitted, the Admissions Committee will review most applications in about 2 weeks. If we believe that we may be able to meet your child's needs, we will schedule a one-hour interview and tour on campus, to get to know your child better.

After the interview and tour, most children take advantage of the opportunity to spend a few days at Learning Prep. During these days, students follow up a full schedule, getting a chance to meet other students, participate in classes, and get to know our staff. This visit allows us to determine if we can support their needs, and it is also an wonderful chance for the child and family to see what attending Learning Prep would be like.

After the visit days, decisions are made in about one week. Students are admitted on a rolling basis. Applicants will be notified via phone or email when a decision is made.
