Welcome to the 2025-26 school year!

Welcome to the 2025-26 school year!

What a great week we have had with your students. They are amazing! It can be hard to start back up at school after a long summer break, and we are really proud of how your students succeeded this week. They learned new routines, welcomed new students, saw old friends, and (mostly!) smiled through their four half days.

We really value starting the year with half days as a way to ease our students into the business of the year. Many of them value this slow build up. On the other hand, our staff members do not ease in! After students leave at 11:00, we get to work. Our staff members have engaged in training in our new reading and math assessment platform (True Progress), the new writing program we are piloting later this year (EmPOWER), language-based teaching practices, DEI, social emotional learning (SEL), and cybersecurity. And that's just in the afternoons of this week and does not account for the four full days of orientation last week through Monday. The work our staff do during these first days will benefit our students all year. We realize that this week can be logistically challenging for families and appreciate your support.

I am excited to share more updates with you later on this year. I hope everyone has a wonderful long weekend and I look forward to seeing you all soon.

In partnership,
Kurt
