Our Assistive Technology Program is designed to assist students that have complex learning profiles to increase their ability to work, accomplish specific tasks, or participate in activities that otherwise may be challenging or difficult. Assistive technology can be a game-changer for students with learning challenges. When AT is matched with the right student and their specific learning profile, they can better access curriculum, learning, and opportunities for success in school and at home.
An assistive technology device is "any device, piece of equipment, or product system whether acquired commercially off the shelf, modified, or customized, that is used to increase, maintain, or improve functional capabilities of a student with a complex learning profile." Devices range from "low tech" (highlighters, modified paper) to "high tech" (laptops, software).
