The last few weeks of the school year are always intensive and exciting. During the period March-June MCAS are a major focus for staff and students. Thirty of our thirty-six seniors passed MCAS and several others have submitted portfolios. Commencement for the Class of 2019 was held on Friday evening, May 31st. It was a beautiful ceremony celebrating the seniors as they transition to the next step in their life’s journey. Members of the Class of 2019 have been accepted at Cape Cod Community College, Landmark College (2), Lesley Threshold Program (3), Via University (Denmark), Salem State, Beacon College (2), Bridgewater State, Framingham State, Mass Bay Transitional Scholars Program, Full Sail University (Curry College),Massasoit Community College (2), Middlesex Community College, among others.

On the evening of May 23rd our annual Senior Parents’ event was held, highlighted by the tradition of each senior reading a letter to their parents, expressing their appreciation for all that they have done to support them. Senior Week provided numerous activities for the seniors to enjoy, including a PAWSOX game. Thanks to all who made these activities possible. On the evening of May 22nd we hosted another Alumni Event with 35 Alums joining us for spaghetti and meatball dinner, together with Bingo and a raffle. Alums from 1996-2018 attended! Our next Alumni event is scheduled for July 10th here at LPS. On Wednesday, May 15th a sumptuous Staff Appreciation Luncheon was provided by parents, an effort truly appreciated and enjoyed by all staff. Our Middle School “Moving On” ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, June 11th at 10:00am, as we celebrate the accomplishments of our grade eight students and wish them well as they prepare to enter high school. The last day of school is Monday, June 17th. This will be a Blue/Green Spirit Field Day.

On behalf of all of us at LPS, we hope you will have an enjoyable and a safe summer with your family and friends. For those families and students who are not returning to LPS please know that we have enjoyed having you as part of our community and we wish you the best. We look forward to those of you who will be returning in August, and look forward to welcoming our new students and families.

Thank you for the privilege of working with your children!

Warm Regards,
