Thank you to everyone who made last week's Silver Lining Celebration a huge success. Together we raised over $60,000 to help LPS purchase Interactive White Boards for our students and staff to use in their classrooms next school year. Our community's support was an impressive and humbling display of generosity from parents, grandparents, alumni, alumni parents, trustees, and friends of LPS. Special thanks to our anonymous donor who made a very generous matching gift to help us surpass our goal.
Students with language-based learning challenges require a variety of accommodations, including technology, to access the curriculum. Interactive White Boards are considered Assistive Technology (AT) and can be of tremendous benefit to students with learning disabilities; AT can compensate for a student's skills deficits, needs, and areas of disability.
If you could not participate but would like to contribute to this important initiative, you may do so by clicking here. These Interactive White Boards will replace overhead projectors and make content truly interactive, adaptable, and better suited for a range of different learning styles. They will help students to better engage with their learning and to make it visible.
Thank you for your support!
