For over 40 years, Learning Prep School (LPS) has been a haven for students with complex language and learning disabilities. Thanks to an enduring commitment and the ongoing efforts of a loyal and talented staff, the school has grown to serve almost 310 students, from 2nd grade through high school, from more than 130 communities. As the largest day school serving this population in Massachusetts, LPS provides a unique and vital service to families from across the state.
In our supportive and highly interactive environment, students become active learners, take risks, and gain greater self-confidence. LPS students acquire skills that enable them either to return to mainstream education in their communities or to graduate from LPS. In either case, students who have attended Learning Prep School typically move on to a college education or become gainfully employed. That so many of our alumni lead independent, productive lives is a testament to our educational approach.
This past February, a new, independent board was formed is an important milestone in the story of an incredible institution that has helped thousands of children reach their potential. It begins a new era for LPS, adding critical resources to an outstanding and unique educational institution.
Learning Prep School is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization. We rely on tuition along with grants, fundraising events, individual and corporate donations to meet our operating costs.
