School Spirit!

By Joan Foster, Interim Executive Director

The definition of School Spirit is all about rallying together as a group and showing your school pride. As we began the school year, it was certainly obvious that the staff and parents were supportive of their school. With enthusiasm, the Administrative staff worked through the summer months to create new programs, format schedules and most importantly rallied as a Team showing a strong school spirit. Parents gave us support with calls and notes, showing their support for the school and the Administrative staff.  This combined effort needs to be recognized and applauded.

As the school opened and the halls filled with student voices excited to see each other, it was evident that the School Spirit had really returned to the halls of LPS. The atmosphere here is rewarding. Students are ready to work and of course to ‘play’. Students are invested as the teaching staff is invested in making a difference in their lives. The days fly by, as the students come and go, hopefully with a bit more knowledge each day and a feeling of more success.

The School Spirit is here at 1507 Washington Street. You can see it in the halls. You can see it as you walk by classrooms. You can see it in the parking lot after school as staff cars are here planning for the next unit or getting Work-Study packets ready. The spirit is alive and strong!
